Dr. Barstow graduated from Kenmore High School in Akron, OH in 
 1967, followed by four years at Akron University in pre-dentistry. He
 graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry in
 December of 1974 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr
 Barstow has always felt that continuing education is a must. After
 dental school some of his extended training included the following:
 Four hundred and six hour course of study with the United States
 Dental Institute in Orthodontics/Dental Orthopedics and completed
 in 1983. In 1987, Dr. Barstow completed a course in advanced
 gnathologics presented by Memphis Gathological Academy, presented
 by Dr. William Mc Harris. He also studied under Dr. Pete Dawson,
 both of these advanced studies related to full mouth reconstruction.
 In 1984 Dr. Barstow began his study in implant dentistry with the
 renowned Midwest Dental Implant Institute where he completed the
 extensive requirements in 1991. He also became a "Fellow" with the
 institute and received "The Bob James Award".

In 1995 Dr. Barstow completed the requirements and testing to become an "Associate Fellow" with the
American Academy Of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Barstow has completed all the course studies presented by
Dr. Hilt Tatum at the Implant Reconstruction Center in St. Petersburg, Flordia in 1995.  Cosmetic dentistry studies included both levels one and two certificates of completion with the Ultimate Cosmetic Practice in 
1998, presented by Dr. Ross Nash. Dr. Barstow is a member of the Ohio State Dental Society and 
Muskingum Valley (past president). He also continues his association with national yearly meetings in 
continuing education with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of 
Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Barstow and his wife Nora have five children together and one granddaughter. They   enjoy golfing together, and Dr. Barstow has a passion for fishing. He has a pond and enjoys managing it
